This Is Just Perfect

Now plays aren't really my forte in any sense and I know very little about theatre. I didn't watch the Tony Awards but here is an awesome duet between Hugh Jackman and NPH. Thank you for existing to this video. Also Neil Patrick Harris' opening song which is great.

I know this a new thing I don't usually blog about this stuff but I just got out of work and am beat so I thought I would share something cool instead of a review today. :) Enjoy all.

Team Teamwork, Perfect Blend of Games and Music

Today I am going to discuss two of my favorite things combined into one, video games and music. There's lots of mash up artists out there but this guy has caught my eye because of his superb use of video game soundtracks and rap. I love mash ups but there is something special about what they have done with music. All tracks are available on their website. But I will share a few of my favorite here off two of their great albums.

Vinyl Fantasy 7 has some real songs and the first time I heard it I was overcome with awe. My favorite game of all time done justice with some great tunes. Here's one of the best tracks on there feauturing a memorable song set to MF Doom's rap.

Not only one of the most perfect games to be compiled but also a soundtrack that is just as good if not better than Final Fantasy's. Every song on this album is great so take the time to go to their site up top and view through this album. Here's one of the gems.

Rainy Weekend? Good Games, Food, and Movies

Today was a decent day for me, I finished all my work then did some yard work at home and capped it off with a night out. Now I'm home and planning out my next two days. It's supposed to pour rain for the rest of the weekend so I am trying to pick a good RPG to get into and spend some time playing. Or maybe I'll resubscribe to World of Warcraft if I have no plans. Rain or shine tomorrow I am going  out with a few friends garage sale hunting looking for a new Nintendo 64 and maybe some old school games if I am lucky. I got a good recipe I wanna try tomorrow for sirloin burgers which I will grill despite the rain because burgers are just that much better on a grill :D. I'm excited to get to sleep but first I need to pick a good movie to watch or a few for the next few days. Any new releases you guys recommend? I was thinking of starting to watching Deadwood or Doctor Who also. Well I hope everyone's saturdays aren't as rain filled as mine will be. Have a good one all.

One last thing for all you game fanatics I stumbled across a pretty cool site for keeping track of all the games you play in order to share with others. You can find the website here. If you wanna make one we can start following each other and I need to start adding all my games O_o. That could be a whole day in itself. Finally here is an awesome gallery that I found. It's basically on set pictures from classic movies. The pictures are awesome, enjoy.

For All You Final Fantasy 7 Fans, Everyone Else Too

A group of guys from Taiwan spend the past two months creating this epic stop motion story about Cloud fighting Sephiroth in order to save Aeris. According to the description they used 10,000 pictures to create the film. The guys who did this have some serious skill.

New Battlefield 3 Gameplay And Internet Privacy

Here's some footage from the upcoming Battlefield 3. I'm not the biggest FPS fan but this one looks like it will be a good one so thought I'd share it with those who haven't seen it yet. The heat is brutal over here hope all of you are staying cool. Gonna make myself some iced coffee and read today before my day really starts going. Another interested bit is this essay I read about privacy on the internet. If you have the time read it because it is worth it and covers the whole "I don't need internet anonymity, I have nothing to hide" argument. Here it is. If you don't have the time to read 28 pages (understandable) here is the conclusion:
"Whether explicit or not, conceptions of privacy underpin nearly every argument made about privacy, even the common quip “I’ve got nothing to hide.” As I have sought to demonstrate in this essay, understanding privacy as a pluralistic conception reveals that we are often talking past each other when discussing privacy issues. By focusing more specifically on the related problems under the rubric of “privacy,” we can better address each problem rather than ignore or conflate them. The nothing to hide argument speaks to some problems, but not to others. It represents a singular and narrow way of conceiving of privacy, and it wins by excluding consideration of the other problems often raised in government surveillance and data mining programs. When engaged with directly, the nothing to hide argument can ensnare, for it forces the debate to focus on its narrow understanding of privacy. But when confronted with the plurality of privacy problems implicated by government data collection and use beyond surveillance and disclosure, the nothing to hide argument, in the end, has nothing to say."

Other Bits and Pieces from E3

Here are a few trailers also from E3. A few of which aren't really getting much press so maybe this will be your guys' first time hearing about these. I'm not going to say I was disappointed with E3 this year because that wouldn't be the right word. There was a lack of PC games but there usually isn't anything that big for us anyway. I just don't like everything being pushed to be played with motion technology. Anyway back to the list, here it goes.

The age old joke that Rock Band/Guitar Hero was time that sohuld have been spent learning an actual instrument. Well apparently Ubisoft heard the jokes and saw the South Park episode. Basically you will have your own real guitar and learn lessons like you would with an actual teacher. A cool idea let's see how it works out when it's released in October.

This is Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning and it will be an Adventure RPG for the 360 and PS3. Basically from what everyone is saying it seems as if the developers realized that Fable two and three were crap and the world needs a good Fantasy RPG like the original. Looking forward to trying this one but it won't be released until sometime in 2012.

Now this is a third person shooter coming to the 360 and PS3 and will have multi-player as well as single player. This one seems kind of strange it's going to be heavily based around gravity with a lot of shifting in landscape and view. To me it sounds like Cloverfield so you'll get a headache and the music in the trailer is just the Inception bass. But all that aside it can be a cool one, we'll see in February 2012.
